Character Concepts for Rumble Studios
I was commissioned to create character concepts for a 3D animation by Rumble Studios for
an in-house project they are working on. They wanted me to create an Indian businesswoman/
entrepreneur in the technology sphere, who is constantly multitasking and barely has time to keep up with life, yet seems to be on top of everything.
They described her sartorial aesthetic as "something she could either go to the gym in, or attend a meeting in", and so I decided to work with athleisure and techwear as inspiration for her clothing. They also mentioned that the character feels like she is out of touch with her Indian heritage, and thus gravitates towards colours such as purple, which do not seem culturally very connected to the region.
For the first stage of this project, I had to create 3 distinct character concepts for the Rumble Studios team to choose from. I took inspiration from different regions and religions of India, while keeping in mind the character brief.
The client chose the third (rightmost) character out of the three concepts that I shared
with them. Following is a character sheet for just her.
